Shraddha Kapoor’s diet secrets and fitness mantra

Shraddha Kapoor’s glamorous outfits and perfect curvey body made her a sought after youth icon of Bollywood today. For Shraddha, it was important to maintain a strict diet and workout regime to fit the bill as a dancer. Well, what if we tell you, her secrets aren’t really hard to adopt. Here is a low-down of Shraddha’s diet plan which is excellent for those looking to trim down!

The best and the fittest swear by the nutritional benefits of fresh, homemade food and Shraddha is no exception. While the actress tries to balance her diet and workout and follow a balanced regime, she relishes food big time! In fact, she is a big fan of Punjabi and Maharashtrian cuisine. She was quoted expressing her love for the same: “Since my dad is a red-blooded Punjabi and mom is a Maharashtrian, my palette is both varied and abundant. I can’t resist Maharashtrian style rawa fried fish, jalebis and kacchi kairi.” She also makes sure to have homemade meals, whenever possible.

For breakfast, she likes to have something to eat as soon as she wakes up, following which she hits the gym. Eggs or the quintessential poha, the actress is a fan of anything that fills her up. A usual breakfast plate includes a serving of fruit, eggs (omelette or one portion of scrambled egg whites) and fresh juice.

Lunch is usually light and filling. When she is home or does not have her hands full with shoots, she gorges on refreshing, light and nutritious meals which include a serving of chicken, green vegetables, dal, and chapatis. While the veggies bring in a variety to her diet, the chicken and pulses ensure that she is stocked up on vitamins and necessary protein.

Early to bed, early to rise – that’s the philosophy of the fittest and Shraddha too swears by it! Can you believe, Shraddha is usually asleep by 11? In fact, she makes it a priority to time her dinner meal accordingly. For dinner Shraddha eats dal, chicken and grilled fish or curry fish with whole wheat bread or brown rice. Additionally, she also snacks every two hours to keep up her metabolism.
The actress makes sure that she restricts junk food and oil-rich food from her diet. When she does indulge, she ensures that she cuts away the toxins and the radicals by staying hydrated.

Workout

Shraddha has been a sport-lover since a young age and enjoyed her share of basketball and volleyball as a teenager.
She also loved – and still does like – a good run and zips for a few miles whenever she finds the time.
As was evident from her dance-centric flick ABCD 2, the actress possesses some excellent dance and ballet skills, which she also channelizes into keeping her body fit and thinks it’s the fastest way to shed weight.
The beauty likes her sleep and we’d dare not question it. Kapoor likes a good 8-hour slumber and believes that it keeps you fresh the next day.
The Ek Villain lead hits the gym 4-5 times a week and her regular routine includes cardio, interval training and strength training. Shraddha advices that not skipping gym and sticking to a regular schedule gives the best results.
